People, like objects, follow Archimedes’ principle, the physical law of buoyancy: we will float in a body of water if we displace a volume of water that is equal to our own volume. But, perhaps you’d like to stay underwater for a length of time: to outsmart others in a pool game; to swim the length of a pool; or you’d just like to get a different perspective on the world around you. While it is dangerous to hold your breath for a length of time in a pool, you can accomplish any of these things with thorough preparation.
